Bathroom Remodeling in Lansing, MI
There is one thing worth fixing in a mid-Michigan bathroom that has nothing to do with how it looks: if your supply pipes run through an exterior wall, the remodel is the only affordable chance you will get to move them.

A frozen supply line that splits inside a finished wall is one of the more expensive domestic water events, because the water runs for as long as it takes someone to notice.

- Insulated duct on that fan run, so the warm moist air does not condense inside the pipe and run back down.
- In-floor electric heat under tile. In a cold climate this is one of the few upgrades people genuinely never regret, and it is inexpensive while the floor is already up.
- A properly sealed and insulated attic hatch if the bathroom has one - it is a large hole in the ceiling of a wet room.

A refresh is one to two weeks. A full gut of a 5x8 is three to four weeks. A layout change adds one to two, mostly for rough-in inspection scheduling rather than labour.
Is in-floor heat expensive to run?

Do I need a permit?
